Founded in 1985 as Design Environmental it is established as a leading manufacturer and supplier of customised and standard environmental and climatic test chambers. As the company has grown over the years, the prime commitment of our experienced team of engineers has been, and continues to be, excellence - excellence in engineering and design, excellence in manufacture and excellence in the service support we provide to our ever increasing list of customers..
In 1998 Design Environmental became a Schunk Group company under Schunk's Weiss Umwelttechnik GmbH arm, which is Europe's largest manufacturer of environmental test equipment. As a member of the group, Design Environmental customers benefit from many enhancements, including a wider choice of services and better resources to meet customer needs and expectations. Overseas customers benefit from group local service support centres and service agencies throughout the world.
Design Environmental Ltd and Weiss Gallenkamp Ltd were sister companies based in the UK and in January 2013 they merged to form Weiss Technik UK Ltd and to offer the complete range of temperature & climatic test chambers available from the Weiss group including the brands of Weiss Technik, Voetsch, Design Environmental & Gallenkamp (a brand specialising in Plant Growth Chambers & Rooms under the Fitotron banner and also Pharmaceutical Stability Chambers).
